Utility Warehouse Partner Earnings: How Much Can You Earn?
Utility Warehouse Partner Earnings
One of the most often asked questions is:
How much can I earn as a Utility Warehouse Partner?”
The stock answer to this is: it depends how hard you work. While true, this article aims to give a more full and complete answer. There are two main ways that Utility Warehouse Partners are paid:
- CGB – Customer Gathering Bonus.
This is a one-off bonus that you are paid when introducing a new member to The Utility Warehouse Discount Club. It takes around an hour to sign someone up (full training is provided). The amount of CGB varies from £2.50 to £40 depending on how many services the customer takes. Typically the CGB is £20 per customer. On this basis you are paid £20 for about an hours work. - CVC – Customer Volume Commission.
This is the ongoing commission that you earn as a Utility Warehouse Partner. CVC is the powerful part of your Utility Warehouse Partner earnings. Every month when your customers pay their bills, you will receive a slice of their bill as commission. The commission levels vary between services. On average a typical four service customer will earn you £5 per month. A four service customer will usually be taking home phone, broadband, gas and electricity. If they take mobile as well, then you earn more.
So the harder you work, the more you get paid? Well yes, that is accurate. Also remember that the CVC starts to be paid to you around five months after you sign the customer up. This is because of the billing and commission process.
Achieve £500 Per Month by the End of Your First Year in Utility Warehouse Partner Earnings
Apply to be a Utility Warehouse Partner Here
As Utility Warehouse Partners we are trained to explain that if you gather two customers a week for your first year, that is a hundred customers. With a hundred customers, you can expect to earn about £500 per month in ongoing commission (CVC). It took me four years to gather my first hundred customers, so I have worked comparatively slowly. Keith Bassi, another Utility Warehouse Partner did work at this business hard in his first couple of years. He achieved 200 customers in his first two years. You can see Keith here:
Training
Keith has now given up full-time employment and is a Utility Warehouse company trainer. He trained me on my first training and I am honestly very grateful for his excellent training style. A lot of the finer details that Keith mentioned have stayed with me even though I have re-trained many times since. There is also an fantastic online training course that you can use anytime to sharpen your Utility Warehouse skills!
Utility Warehouse Partner Earnings – an Example
This graph shows my Utility Warehouse Partner earnings from the day I signed up in July 2009. There have been a couple of unusual months due to business customers of mine clearing their slate. The overall trend is clear – if you keep working, the commission keeps increasing. I do have a reasonable number of customers who live in smaller properties and this is why the CVC is not quite £500 per month. The bottom line is that this commission keeps coming in regardless of whether I do any work or not – for as long as my customers remain with Utility Warehouse. Since 96% of Utility Warehouse customers say that they would recommend the company to a friend, the customer retention rates are excellent.
Get Paid For Resting in Bed
This sounds too good to be true and my experience is that if something sounds too good to be true, there is always a reason. Here’s the story: I have suffered from recurrent tonsillitis since the age of 19 and have had a some painful experiences as a result. Last month I had my tonsils removed. At the age of 34 that is not a straightforward procedure and the recovery is slow and painful.
The great thing about my Utility Warehouse Partner earnings is that I kept getting paid all the time I was in bed recovering. So is it too good to be true? Well, I did do the work to sign the customer in the first place. That’s the catch that most people fall foul of. There is work involved, you do need to pick up the phone and call people you know. I am nearly fully recovered now and looking forward to receiving my Utility Warehouse mini in a month’s time!

Seems to good to be true.
I work at the moment would it be possible to do this too. I have got to ask what is the catch
Feb 06, 2015 @ 15:03:23
Hi there
There are come catches to being a Utility Warehouse distributor – see my FAQ page. The main one is that you have to stick at it – highs and lows etc. That catches most people out.
It is important to do it in tandem with a full time job to start with while you build up your monthly income, working part-time from home.
Look forward to working with you!
Best regards,
Jonathan

Hi there,
I believe I am about to lose my job. I am a disabled home worker and am looking for a full time opportunity that I can easily do from home. I need full time pay so could anyone advise if this could be the role I am looking for?
Look forward to hearing from you
Jun 11, 2015 @ 12:21:59
Hi Jenny
Absolutely – you will get out what you put in as a Utility Warehouse distributor. Bear in mind that you would be self-employed, so there would be no salary – purely commission. This is ongoing and paid to you for the entire time your customers stay with Utility Warehouse.
Hope that helps?
Best regards,
Jonathan

Hello,
My partner and I are both considering working as Utility Warehouse distributers. We are both in full time employment but could do with some extra income. Is there a way that we could work as a couple? Using my partners details as the main contact? I’m sure I read somewhere that this is possible but I can no longer find the link? I was lead to believe that all commission would be paid directly into her account and then we could split the amount between us as we please. I understood that we would both have to complete the training before working as id’s but I wasn’t sure if we’d both have to pay £100 each, or if we would only have to pay £100 for the joint business venture?
Regards
Stuart
Jun 29, 2015 @ 21:29:59
Hi Stuart
So sorry for delay – think I may have already replied by email?
Absolutely – you can both sign up as Utility Warehouse distributors and the cost remains the same. Please simply enter your partners details on the signup form. Alternatively -you can add your partner at a later date by telephoning partner services.
This will entitle you both to unlimited training, there is no catch to sighing your partner up as a Utility Warehouse distributor at the same time as yourself.
Please advise if you have any further questions and look forward to working with you!
Best regards,
Jonathan

Hi Jonathan
Am I correct in thinking that each UW distributor sources new customers themselves? How are new customers expected to be found if a person doesn’t have any family / friends / current work colleagues?
And is there an initial outlay? I’ve heard it is £100 – may I ask what this outlay is for?
Kind regards
Dan

Hi Dan
Absolutely – we show you on training how to build a list and what to say when approaching them.
The outlay of £100 covers your initial starter pack of marketing materials, your hosted website (template with your details – not a blog like this) and unlimited training. It is refundable if you sign 3 ‘gold’ customers as a Utility Warehouse distributor in your first 90 days.
Hope that helps and look forward to working with you!

Hi there
I live in london and have many network marketing companies so please provide straight on the point answers to the following questions?
1- what is the commision range?
2- are the bonuses maintained?
3- what is the commisions for personal sales?
After sign up is there monthly fee for hosting some wwbsite or so?
Oct 15, 2015 @ 12:04:26
Hi Liban
Many thanks for the message!
1. 2.4% – 5% depending on the service. Typically £5 per month for a residential customer who takes all of the services.
2. Yes.
3. See 1.
Yes there is a monthly fee after the first year – £4 per month. If you’re not making a lot more than £4 per month after a year then something needs to be improved!
Hope that helps!

Hi Abigail
Many thanks for you comment.
The Utility Warehouse business opportunity is just that – an opportunity to make money as a self-employed distributor of The Utility Warehouse products and services. You find your own customers and are supported by the online and face to face training from Utility Warehouse as well as the mentoring of myself and a buddy local to you.
This is not a ‘job’ – there is no employment contract and no hourly rate. It is in effect a mini franchise and you are self-employed.
Hope that helps!
Best regards,
Jonathan

Hi I was researching last night. Is it true that in order to get ur commision every month. You must sign a new customer every single month. If u don’t then for that month u get no pay. So let’s say I had 100 costumers so get on average (estimate from research) £500 a month but I dont sign a single costumer throughout january I wont get paid a penny. But if sign some in febuary I then get my £500. But if no signed in march I dont recieve a penny again ???
Feb 01, 2016 @ 22:29:26
Hello Kelly
Many thanks indeed for your comment – there is some truth in what you have found, but there are limits and the scenario you outlined is not possible.
Here is the detail:
– Up until you have gathered 20 personal customers, you are correct, you are not paid ‘cvc’ (monthly, ongoing commission based on your customer’s usage) unless you have gathered at least 1 customer in the preceding month.
– Once you hit 20 personal customers, you ‘lock in’ your telecommunications commission and are paid cvc on that each month regardless of whether you gather any customers. You are only paid the additional cvc for energy if you gather one customer in the preceding month.
– Once you hit 50 personal customers, you ‘lock in’ all of your cvc and you no longer need to gather one customer a month to qualify for full cvc. This applies for as long as you have at least 50 personal customers.
You always get paid ‘CGB’ (the one-off commission you receive when you first sign a customer up) regardless of previous activity.
Hope that helps shed some light?
Look forward to working with you!
Best regards,
Jonathan

To make sure you get your monthly commission, what are the minimum requirements? i.e Commission paid if you continue to sign up X amount of customers or services per month?
Jun 13, 2016 @ 18:22:11
Hi Kellie
Many thanks for your question!
Until you reach 50 customers, you are required to gather at least 1 customer a month to be paid your ongoing (CVC) commission.
Hope that helps and look forward to working with you!

Hi,
I’m interested in becoming a UW Distributor and there are some people that are wanting me on their team.
Basically I just wanted full information from yourself regarding what it is like to be UW Distributor, where is the training held, are you under pressure in getting sales all the time, are you your own boss or will the people who got you to sign up be your boss? I just need these things explaining and if you could give me general information overall about being a distributor.
If you could send this via email that would be great.
Thank you!
Katie.
Aug 28, 2016 @ 16:38:55
Hi Katie
Many thanks for your message!
You are entirely your own boss – there is no pressure from Utility Warehouse. If you know people already in UW who want you in their team, then there should be no pressure from them – just support.
Training is held in regional training centres – training rooms in hotels etc dotted around the UK. Almost certainly there will be a training centre within half an hour of where you live.
The way to be successful as a Utility Warehouse distributor in my opinion is to:
– Keep going – be prepared for a lot of ‘no’s’. They usually come back to you after you have been in the business a while.
– Go on training lots, not the minimum. Ditto online training.
– Set your own targets and goals including a vision board of what it will mean to you when you achieve yours.
Hope that helps and wish you every success as a Utility Warehouse distributor!
Best regards,
Jonathan

Hi
I went to a presentation the other day and was intrigued by the thought of becoming self employed and being my own boss. The problem was that I didn’t feel that there was enough information given out in the presentation. If you could shed some light on this business as a whole and answer some questions such as how much training is required before you start working and earning, how the scheme works, what happens when you start convincing people to join utility warehouse and how you progress through the ranks
Aug 27, 2017 @ 18:32:56
Hi Kris
Many thanks indeed for the message!
The Utility Warehouse Distributor training is unlimited and free – the more that you can attend, the quicker you will master this business. I went five times in my first year. There are various different types of training – getting started, team building etc. There are many Utility Warehouse training centres all over the UK, so there is bound to be one near to you.
There is no convincing of people in this business if you are serious and operate in an ethical way. It is simply a case of showing people the potential benefits – keying in the data from their current bills into the UW quote system (really simple and intuitive) and then advising the customer of their options and letting them make the decision for themselves.
You progress through the ranks of Utility Warehouse by simply keeping going. The successful Distributors are those who have had the stamina, belief and focus to keep going. It really is as simple as that. Note: not easy, simple.
Hope that helps?
Many thanks,
Jonathan

I have had a presentation from someone about this but have some questions after doing my due diligence it’s seems they really like to tell you the massive bonuses you can earn but when you ask what the average sign up earns they change the subject also I currently have a mlm business and have a large customer base already also have a few more questions thanks
Jan 12, 2019 @ 20:13:57
Hi Steve
Many thanks for the question. The trouble with averages is that you can have your head in the oven and your feet in the freezer… On average you’re ok.
I would say that £20 is typical, that said – I signed a customer up tonight and will receive £110 signup bonus, I have signed others up that have earnt me £2.50 signup bonus. It is exactly that though – a bonus. I look at it as covering the cost of my fuel and time in supporting the customer and getting the deal.
It is the monthly ongoing commission that is really valuable. Typically £5 per customer per month.
Hope that helps somewhat?
Many thanks,
Jonathan
